Bali Farm House.

Bali Farm House is an Instagram cafe with a small petting zoo bolted on, up in the cool Bedugul highlands. Coffee and matcha were both better than they had any right to be at a place mostly trading on the photo opportunity. Easy half-day stop if you are driving up to the lakes, kids welcome.

Easy recommend.

Bali Farm House sits in the highlands near Bedugul, the cool, foggy part of the island that surprises everyone the first time they go up. The place is built around themed photo sets, miniature Dutch windmills, little Korean houses, a small barn, with a working cafe at the center. Family-friendly by design, and kids run the grounds loose without anyone minding. We only got drinks: a matcha and a coffee, both better than they had any right to be. Matcha was properly whisked, not chalky. Coffee was clean and balanced, the kind we ordered a second round of to keep warm in the morning fog. We did not eat, so cannot speak to the food. The actual draw beyond the cafe is the animals, alpacas, deer, rabbits, ducks, a few horses, with kids running around feeding them. Even without kids in tow, the petting zoo is well kept and the staff clearly care about the animals. If you are road-tripping up to Lake Beratan or Munduk, this is the right stop on the way.
