WOODS PERERENAN.

Solid Pererenan brunch. Shakshuka with proper depth, poached eggs on flatbread with watercress, fresh sourdough, decent matcha. Calm room, fair prices. A 7 from him, an 8 from her.

Solid pick.

She ordered the eggs benedict-style plate: poached eggs on flatbread, watercress salad on top, a slick of hollandaise underneath, a dusting of paprika. Eggs were properly soft inside, hollandaise had real lemon, the watercress kept it from feeling heavy. He went with the shakshuka. Tomato sauce had depth, eggs were poached into it, a swirl of green herb oil on top, soft cheese melting through. Sourdough on the side, still warm, real crust. Solid version, not the best he's had in Bali but no complaints. Latte art was sharp, matcha was clean and not too sweet. The room is calm marble-and-wood, plants around, natural light. Service was steady, not fast but not slow. A 7 from him, 8 from her, decent for a quiet morning around Pererenan.
